Elastomer joints enable significant movement between the structures due to their high elasticity. They will be used were water pressure is high, where there are dynamic loads (bridge, railway, etc.) and where temperatures are low.

Connections by vulcanisation can be made in the workshop, which is preferable; but, for straight connections, they can also be produced on-site by a specialised technician.

Elastomer is a generic term for synthetic rubber used in the production of joints. The coupling of these joints is performed by vulcanisation or gluing.

A metallic sheet is vulcanised at the ends of the joint, in order to be able to fasten the joint easily without puncturing the elastomer.

Benefits
  • Large expansion possible
  • Resistant to UV
  • Remains flexible at low temperature

The plates on either side of the joint allow the joint to be attached to the reinforcements on-site.
